Miss Emilie started dancing at the age of three in Kirkland. When her family moved to Kent she enrolled at The British Dancing Academy where she stayed for ten years furthering her passion for dance. At the BDA, Miss Emilie studied all styles of dance offered and grew to know that this was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
She went on to study at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance. While at Cornish, Miss Emilie worked with choreographers such as Wade Madsen, Danny Buracheski, Deborah Wolf, Nancy Cranbourne, Christy McNeil and Patricia Hon. Miss Emilie has also performed with Sonya Dawkins in the Seattle Theatre Group’s annual “Dance This!” production held at The Paramount Theatre every summer. She also had the opportunity to travel to Boulder, Colorado to dance with the Interweave Dance Theatre for two seasons as part of the Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop. After Miss Emilie graduated college she also participated and performed in Mark Morris’s Dance Group summer workshop tour while in Seattle.
Miss Emilie recently completed an intense teachers’ course at the Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop 2016. She is looking forward to applying new skills and inspiration to her jazz classes.
Miss Emilie is very excited to be back at the BDA letting her passion for dance shine through in her classes and creating the same great experience she had when she attended the Academy.
